Malibu Farm

We are loving our new “Malibu Farm” cookbook! The book is named after a farm in Malibu that morphed from a backyard dining endeavor to a cafe and restaurant at the end of Malibu pier! The proprietress, Helene, began with cooking classes and farm dinners in her backyard and they became so popular she was forced to take the next step, more like a leap, and open her small business perched over the Pacific ocean.The recipes are healthy, straight forward and simple. Helene uses mostly whole wheat flours and whole grains, lots of veggies and fruits and she says she “loves arugula and totally believes there is no such thing as too much lemon”.

Helene stives to offer as much local and small farm items as she can, from her own farm she provides eggs, persimmons, figs, lemons, pomegranates, apricots, asian pears, carrots, beets, asparagus, and fresh herbs. In addition, Helene shops at the Santa Monica farmers market to find the best products at any given time for her guests.
