About the author

Karen Allen, a native of Salem, Oregon, is a distinguished interior designer who graduated from the Bassist Institute (now Art Institute of Portland) in Portland, Oregon. With a rich career spanning positions at Henry Meyer Interiors and House of Design, Karen eventually established her own company, Design Etc., in Corvallis, Oregon, where she has passionately served for over 30 years.

Beyond design, Karen finds joy in photography, gardening, painting, flower arranging, and indulging in her extensive library of 3,000 books. She cherishes time with her grandchildren and delights in cooking, shopping, and traveling. A fervent admirer of French culture, Karen infuses her work with a touch of the French joie de vivre.

Karen Allen epitomizes creativity, dedication, and a zest for life, shaping spaces and hearts with her boundless passion and expertise.
